Light at the End of the Tunnel

As we enjoy our long summer days and cool summer nights, it seems like we are approaching some brighter times ahead of us. Although we are still adjusting to the ‘new normal’, it seems like we can begin to accept our circumstances… and adapt. This is a new process for all of us, and there may still be some difficult days ahead, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Here are some ways to help you continue to regulate your emotions, and feel the light at the end of the tunnel:

Breathing

If you start to feel uneasy, and unwanted thoughts emerge into your mind – take a step back, inhale and exhale. A good way to regulate your body and help you stay focused on the present is inhaling a deep breath, counting to 5, and then exhaling slowly out. This exercise can help alleviate immediate stressors, and lead you to feeling better amidst negativity.

Talking

If something is bothering you – then let it out! Whether it be a loved one, friend, or someone here at the Reflection Centre – sharing your thoughts and feelings can help lift a heavy burden off your shoulders – a burden you may have never realized was there!

Walking

To clear your head, physically changing your surroundings can help you mentally remove yourself from an unwanted headspace. If you’re feeling down – go for a walk! It’s so nice outside, and you can even see a friend for a socially distant hangout on the way!

Here are the Reflection Centre, we want to support you as you embark on this new journey of life. Reach out to us – whether it be to book an appointment, have a consultation, or even if you have a question.

We are here for you, and we will all get through this together.
